Ministry at SBC
We have quite a few different ministries at SBC to help meet the needs within our church and community. Besides our Women's, Men's, Children & Youth Ministries, here are a few more . . .
Comfort Ministry
Both the creation and presentation of the "Prayer/ Healing" shawl has a lasting value to both the giver and the recipient. Throughout the ages prayer shawls have come to symbolize shelter, peace, and spiritual sustenance.
The prayer shawl ministry which began in 1998 as a grass roots movement has quickly grown to an international cause. Members lovingly create hand knit and crocheted shawls donating their time and talents to others in need. Prayer shawls are easy to make, inexpensive to donate and will go to those with serious illness, major surgery, or after the loss of a loved one to provide comfort and healing.
Anyone interested in joining in this ministry of love, please contact the church office.
The Twelve
We call ourselves "The Twelve", a name we believe to be inspired by the Spirit of God, on a mission similar to the mission of the 12 chosen by Jesus to continue the work He had started on earth. It is our charge to faithfully follow the commands of Jesus to be prayerful for the welfare of His flock. We are different in every way from one another except the most important one, we are all Christian men who believe in salvation thru God’s grace and our repentant spirit and our willingness to accept Jesus’ gift.
If you choose to join us you agree to be faithful to your commitment to prayer to God for the needs brought to us. There are no costs, few meetings, and the potential to be encouragers, to grow in grace and understanding and to form strong relationships both with God and other committed men like yourself. We handle requests and communication almost entirely by email and phone but stay available to nurture or counsel each other when necessary.
MAST
MAST stands for men's action service team. Comprised of men willing to lend a hand when there is a need within the church. We are about a dozen of varying ages and abilities who try and help those who have a short term need. Most often those with limited resources or health issues who need things done or fixed but find it difficult or impossible.
Can you help? See if you have
what our
ministries may need to
support our community.
We welcome your participation.
