The
Mega Sports Camp came again to SBC in July. Basic skills and teamwork
were taught in Soccer, Basketball and Cheerleading.
This was a very fun camp where children learned a new sport and heard
bible stories that taught about truth, wisdom, confidence, faith and teamwork!
Cool Weather Gear & Food Donations - Our 4th & 5th grade girls Sunday School class organized a drive to collect Jackets/Coats, Blankets, Twin Size Bed Sheets, Knit Hats, Scarves, Mittens, Canned Food and Dry Food items. Their efforts combined with the people of SBC resulted in a tremendous amount of donations that were given to the Boise Rescue Mission and the Idaho Foodbank.
Quilting! - We are planning, cutting, sewing and quilting to help local people. Come get acquainted and share whatever time you can. It really is a worthwhile activity and benefits those who give as well as those who receive. Bring your own scissors on the first Saturday of every month, 9 - 11am, and meet us in the Large Fellowship Room in the lower level of the church. Please check the newsletter for any changes in our meeting schedule.
With many helping hands and donations, SBC was able to put together 44 care boxes for our troops serving in Iraq. We have already received thanks from soldiers who enjoyed receiving the boxes and are glad they are being remembered. Please continue to pray that God will bless and protect the men and women who are fighting to protect our country.
SBC was proud to be able to partner with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and CBH Homes to provide a family in Middleton with a new home in July. We had a great turnout of volunteers and had fun with our special project of painting the barn! The show will be aired December 2nd.
Meridian PAL is a group of volunteers who provide fun, high-quality, morale-building, supervised extra-curricular activities for children. SBC was able to offer a field for the PAL's U5 Baseball games Saturday evenings this past June and is looking forward to assisting this family-oriented organization in the future. Visit the Meridian PAL website for more information.
